This total basement renovation was the culmination of the homeowners desire for an "adult" play area which would include an authentic style pub with wine cellar & billiard table, a Gym, and a serious but comfortable theater area which would be opened enough for party/event viewing to the rest of the basement, yet "closed" or comfortable enough for more private movie viewing experiences.
Key construction and logistical hurdles to overcome included support columns awkwardly placed throughout the basement. It was decided to lay out the basement to take advantage of these columns which were then hidden in to be built walls and structural woodwork with retractable shades to create the "opened/closed" theater concept that the homeowner was dreaming about.
