\"foundationFoundation Contractor - The foundation is the main support structure for any building. Without a good foundation, your building could easily be damaged beyond repair. So when foundational defects are first noticed, it’s time to call in a foundation contractor immediately to access the damages before problems get too bad to fix.

Having at least three quality foundation contractors give you an estimate is probably in your best interest to not only get the best deal possible, but also to ensure each foundation contractor is on the same page when it comes to exploration and the tools and materials it will take to complete the job. When foundation contractors aren’t in line with one another, there should be reason for concern that something was left out on one of the bids.

When receiving bids from any foundation contractor, always ask what their policy is on piling depth. Typical piling depth for foundation reinforcement is around 20-30 feet deep. After that depth, an additional charge may be required. If your foundation contractor cannot supply you with an indication of costs when average depth levels are exceeded, then they probably didn’t plan on going over the average depth to begin with. While it’s not always necessary to go over the 20-30 feet depth for pilings reinforcement, it sometimes is needed in certain cases to prevent the foundation from falling back into disrepair.

Warranties and guarantees on foundation repair work are a must have when hiring any foundation repair company.  How long does the warranty last, what does the guarantee entail and what restrictions and limitations do they hold? When looking for a foundation specialist with a good warranty, look for one with a trust service. A warrantee trust will still be in effect, even when the original company that did the work goes out of business.

It’s not just the foundation company who needs to be checked for credentials either. Workers who perform the job should have proper certification and training certificates on hand for your approval. All equipment and procedures used should be certified by the ICC-ES. But it’s not just equipment and workers who need to be up to professional standards. The finished work should be tested by a professional engineer as well.
