Blasting Contractor - When you’re in the need for a serious demolition expert or an underground surveyor—a blasting contractor is there to suit your every need. From ground excavations, underground x-rays and large structure demolitions, a blasting contractor can do it all. Controlled blasting through the use of high explosive charges can be the final and only solution to many blasting needs. But without the right credentials, safety checks and insurance, a blasting contractor can be a dangerous person indeed.

When high dollar investments are at risk and death defying explosions must occur at exact times and locations, precision is everything. But experience comes before precision. The best way to find an experienced and professional blasting contractor is through good quality references and a strong portfolio. Without either of these, you might seem to be getting a good deal; but price isn’t everything. Experience and a long trail of happy customers create a strong backbone for any blasting  construction company. Always ask for a minimum of three contactable references to help find the best person for the job.

While high explosives and big destructive capabilities are possible on the high end of a blasting contractor’s portfolio, some blasting and drilling excavating companies are at the lower end of the danger spectrum and break hard earth and rock with a simple expanding foam solution. After predrilling holes into the ground at specified depths, water and a special chemical mix are added into predrilled holes—skipping a few here and there to create the maximum fracture rate to break apart large sections of rock and earth in one fell swoop and all without any explosions.

But it’s not just about blowing stuff up. Some blasting contractors are used to test seismic geography underneath of the earth for foundations and footings. With several seismographs within close proximity, underground charges are deployed. A seismic shockwave is sent through the ground and recorded by the buried instruments. Once a computer analyzes the data, it will reveal a map of what lays beneath the surface such as bedrock, clay and even oil reserves. A simple explosion can reveal whether or not you need to drill 10 feet or 1,000 feet—the cost could quickly become an exponential crisis without the knowledge a blasting contractor brings to the project.
